Matthew 27:23-25

²³ Then the governor said, “But what evil has he done?” Then they cried all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”

²⁴ When Pilate saw that it was no use, and that it was becoming a riot, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Man. You see to it.”

²⁵ Then all the people answered, and said, “May His blood be upon us, and upon our children!”
